The question. Will researchers who get a free, fact-checked video of their newest paper reply, and later pay for more?
what I built
For each paper: a verified entry, a 50 second video, a public study page and a personal email with one link and an opt-out line. A stop rule was set before the first send.

what happened
- 100 authors in the outreach log.
- 18 first emails sent between 26 and 29 October. 2 bounced, and 0 replies so far.
- Of the 16 delivered emails, only 2 links were fetched, and one of those was probably a mail scanner.
- 41 more emails are scheduled for 2 to 6 November, and 57 drafts are ready.
what broke
- The email API could not set the sender address and wrapped links in redirects, so every draft was fixed by hand before scheduling.
decision
Too early for a verdict. The stop rule: 2 paying means scale, replies without payment means change the offer, fewer than 5 replies means stop.
