FreeMathPractice: a free maths site people actually use

running Dec 2025 to now · Open FreeMathPractice

The question. Can one person build a free practice site with AI coding agents and get real visitors from search, with no ads and no paid traffic?

what I built

A free maths practice site for kindergarten to grade 8 with no login: practice by grade and topic, speed tests, a daily challenge, mental maths tricks and 28 printable drill sheets with answer keys. It started as 148 pages in December 2025 and now has 1,095.

Next.js · TypeScript · Claude Code · Cloudflare Pages · Search Console API

what happened

  • 4,199 visitors and 14,228 page views in the 30 days to 3 November 2026. That is 14 and 24 percent lower than the 30 days before.
  • Almost all search traffic came through Bing's index: about 1,200 visits from Bing, 171 from Yahoo and 157 from DuckDuckGo.
  • Google had indexed only 56 of 1,095 pages and sent 37 clicks in three months.
  • The step by step help was checked on 2,000 questions per topic and grade, with 0 wrong answers.

Cost. Hosting runs on a free plan. The old host reached 93 percent of its monthly request limit, so the site moved to Cloudflare Pages on 3 November 2026.

what broke

  • Every canonical tag pointed at a host that redirected, so Google treated most pages as copies. Fixed on 3 November 2026. Results are expected in 2 to 8 weeks.
  • An AI explain feature stopped working. It was replaced with step by step help written as plain code, and unverified testimonials were removed from the site.

decision

Keep building. Next are weekly agents that read Search Console and propose new pages, with a person approving every change. The goal is 20,000 visitors a month.
