DialDynamo: an AI receptionist for US trades

stopped, with lessons Jul 2026 to Oct 2026 · Read the case study

The question. Will US home service trades pay a monthly fee for an AI receptionist when a sales partner calls them?

what I built

A voice receptionist that answers the phone and books the job into a calendar, and a missed call SMS agent.

Twilio · OpenAI Realtime · Supabase · DigitalOcean

what happened

  • Both products went live at 300 and 99 dollars a month. 254 of 254 tests passed.
  • 133 calls to 9 demo business lines, mostly test callers: 130 minutes of talk, a median response time of 728 ms and 12.39 dollars in AI and phone costs.
  • The sales partner made 5 to 10 calls a day, about 25 to 50 a week.
  • 9 meetings were booked with agencies for a white label version. No deal is recorded.
  • 0 paying clients.

Cost. About 6 dollars a month for the server.

decision

The bottleneck was 100 percent distribution, and 25 to 50 calls a week was too few to learn from. Stopped.

  • AI disclosure rules for voice and SMS agents have to be checked before launch.
