The question. Can a team of agents research and write sourced, in-depth articles that pass a strict quality gate?
what I built
4 research agents, then 10 writer agents, then an edit pass. A quality gate checked banned words, at least 8 sources per article and every link.

what happened
- 10 of 10 articles passed the gate, with 10 to 19 sources and 2,400 to 3,200 words each.
- The edit pass removed more than 370 em dashes, a common sign of AI writing.
- The research corrected one of my own claims about click prices.
what broke
- A usage limit stopped all 10 writers halfway.
- Two writers kept working after the commit, and their changes had to be rolled back.
decision
Background agents must be finished before the edit pass and the commit.
